Established in December 2000, Autism in Mind (AIM) originated as a support group, committed to raising awareness and delivering invaluable support to individuals on the autism spectrum, their families, and caregivers.
Today, AIM has evolved into a specialised adult service, proudly commissioned by the NHS North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC ICB) in South Tyneside and Sunderland, as well as by the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear Foundation Trust (CNTW) in Northumberland.
Our primary focus is on providing tailored support to autistic individuals who do not have an associated learning disability.
We CONNECT with autistic individuals.
We SUPPORT need.
We PREVENT crisis.
We deliver our ‘Feeling the Impact’ weekly training to staff at CNTW NHS Foundation Trust. This training program is developed around the mandatory autism training 'Core Capabilities Framework for Effectively Supporting Autistic People'. For further details, please visit our dedicated CNTW Training page.
We offer bespoke training packages to organisations who wish to gain a better understanding of autism.
