AIM Northumberland is an exciting new peripatetic and online post-diagnostic service for autistic adults (who do not have a learning disability) and live in Northumberland.
We will be delivering low-level preventative support and Me, Myself & Autism in Berwick and Cramlington from July. (more information on other localities to follow).
We will also be delivering Me, Myself & Autism online throughout the Summer.
The Connect, Support, Prevent Service consists of:
Our psychoeducational course ‘Me, Myself & Autism’ which supports autistic adults to have a greater understanding of their autism and what it means to them.
Low-Level Preventative Support to assist with communication and promote self-advocacy. We offer:
Practical support with things autistic people finds difficult. Solution-focused support with practical life tasks, supporting the learning of new skills to increase confidence.
Emotional support to listen to and validate autistic experience.
Social Spaces - We will be running monthly social spaces where autistic adults can chat with like-minded peers, join in board games, get creative, or sit quietly and enjoy a safe environment.
